Encouraging everyone in the Rainier Valley & beyond to find wholeness in Jesus Christ
Rainier Avenue Free Methodist Church is nestled in the heart of the Rainier Valley, a one-by-seven mile community of 40,000 people in southeast Seattle. Our mission is to encourage everyone in the Rainier Valley and beyond to find wholeness in Jesus Christ through:
*Fostering intimacy with God
*Building authentic community
*Working together for compassion and justice
WORSHIP SERVICES ARE AT 9am and 10:30am. We invite you to join us this Sunday!
Description: "Sanctuary" Wednesday morning prayer - Rather than having a guided prayer meeting, we will be opening up the sanctuary of the church from 7:30 -9:30 am every Wednesday for people to come freely and spend time with God in quiet prayer. The sanctuary will be set up to foster that sense of quiet and solitude, and you are invited to come spend as much or as little time as you would like. Contact: Pastor Mark Nsimbi
Description: This year's theme for Mom to Mom is Counting Blessings, Collecting Memories. Motherhood is an incredible season of life with so many remarkable things happening all the time. The hardest thing about it is we have little to no energy or time to reflect and collect. This year we will spend a little time at the beginning of each meeting writing down a special memory or something that was life-giving that week. We will share these with each other, and we will hang onto these so that we can look back at them later.
Also, we have decided that this year we will try to make time for all the things we love about Mom to Mom by having a monthly rotation. In any given month we will try to have one meeting devoted to each of the following:
- Our own personal growth (spiritual, relational, emotional, etc.)
- Creative and fun expression (usually a craft of some sort, but if Judy leads it it might be a game day)
- Our growth as parents
- An extended time of sharing and praying
We will rotate leadership so you can choose whether or not you'd like to lead a craft day, or a sharing time or if you are reading/learning something you'd like to share that would speak to our personal growth or our growth as parents. If you are looking for a good book to read, Arlene had some great resources.
Description: Community Night is a way for Rainier Avenue Church to open our doors to the neighborhood and offer time and space to build relationships. Dinner is served at 6pm, followed by Freedom Schools tutoring for elementary students and additional groups and classes. Contact Gar Nishioka with questions, email@example.com.
