Please join us for worship on Sunday morning, 9 am and 10:30am. Adult worship takes place in the main sanctuary, and children’s worship and Sunday school classes in the lower level. There is a youth fellowship group that takes place during our 9 am service.
Here are some of the ways that we invite people to participate together in worship:
Music – We worship Jesus by singing a blend of worship music including hymns, Christian contemporary and gospel. Acknowledging the freedom we have in the presence of Christ, we encourage people to worship God freely, whether by singing, lifting hands, sitting in quiet, or coming to kneel at the front of the sanctuary. Sometimes you will hear languages from different countries. Lyrics are projected on a screen in the front of the sanctuary.
Scripture – The Bible is the Word of God, and we delight in hearing it! It tells us of God’s character, God’s activity, and God’s desires for us.
Message – As you listen to the sermon — God’s message delivered through one of the pastors — consider how the Holy Spirit may be prompting you to respond. You can find past sermons here.
Prayer – Prayer requests can be written on the orange welcome cards. You are invited to come forward and receive prayer at the end of the service. Anointing oil is often used as a sign of God’s healing presence and power.
Giving – Those of us who consider Rainier Avenue Church our spiritual home give financially to fund its ongoing ministry. Contributions can be specifically designated using the envelopes in the racks attached to each seat. Visitors are encouraged to drop a completed welcome card into the baskets.
Fellowship – Please stay after the service to meet and greet one another. Light refreshments are available downstairs in the fellowship hall between the first and second service (around 10-10:30am), and additional church information and resources are available in the lobby.
